Multiplication Calculator

A free online calculator called a multiplication calculator shows the outcome of multiplying two integers. Kiodigital’s online multiplication calculator application speeds up calculations and shows the product of two integers in a flash of time.

Multiplying integers calculator can be used to multiply any two positive or negative integers instantly. The integers are whole numbers including 0, positive number and negative numbers. The fractions, decimals, and percents do not fall under the integers category.

Define Multiplication

Multiplication is one of the four elementary mathematical operations of arithmetic, with the others being addition, subtraction and division. The result of a multiplication operation is called the product. A mathematical operation performed on a pair of numbers in order to derive a third number called a product. For positive integers, multiplication consists of adding a number (the multiplicand) to itself a specified number of times. Thus multiplying 6 by 3 means adding 6 to itself three times.

It is known that integers can be positive or negative. To multiply integers, their signs should always be taken into account. The resultant sign for multiplying different polynomials is given as follows:

Rules to Multiply Integers:

Case 1:

2 Positive Integer

Result- Positive

a × b = ab

Case 2:

2 Negative Integer

Result- Positive

– a × – b = ab

Case 3:

1 Positive and 1 Negative Integer

Result- Positive

– a × b = – ab

Or,

a × – b = – ab

Solved Examples on Multiplication

Example 1:

What is the product of 15 and 15?

Solution:

The multiplication of 15 and 15 results in 225.

I.e, 15 × 15 = 225.

Hence, the product of 15 and 15 is 225.

Example 2:

Multiply: 10 × 100.

Solution:

10 × 100 = 1000.

Hence, the multiplication of 10 and 100 is 1000.

Example 3:

Find the missing value: 15 × ____ = 1500.

Solution:

Let the missing value be “a”.

Hence, 15a = 1500

Therefore, a = 1500/15

a = 100

I.e., 15 × 100 = 1500.

Hence, the missing value is 100.
